There were numerous mixed emotions at the TCC this week with the 1’s and the White 4’s falling agonisingly short of a Grand Final place while the 3’s and the Black 4’s go through to the last week of the season on highs after spirited performances in their matches.

The 1’s faced top placed Sandy Creek at Kapunda and fell excruciatingly short of the 209 to win. Saturday’s performance with the ball saw Justin “Cheese and Bacon” Ward take his first 5 wicket haul for the year and he was ably supported by Christian “Cheddar” Gattermyer and Barry “Chicken Drumstick” Kaesler who both claimed 2 victims. Gattermyer and Kaesler also had busy weekends with bat making 54 and 36 respectively but ultimately the team fell 3 unbearable runs short of facing rivals Nuriootpa in the Final.

The 3’s had to perform well in the field on Sunday if they were to make it into the Grand Final after being rolled for 149 at the end of the first days play. Jon “Barbecue” Farley crafted his way to 69 before he was bowled while Sam “Pizza” Tarca finished off the innings with 22 valuable runs. A vastly improved effort in the field saw the Light Pass side all out for 77 which included 2 sharp run outs. With the ball 3 wickets went to spinners Nick “Chicken Crimpy” Murphy and Rowan “Savoury” Miegel while quick Daniel Marshall claimed 2 victims to complete a comprehensive finish to the match.

The White 4’s snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as their opponents Angaston scraped over the line in the final over. Captain George “Nacho Cheese” Akkerman made a courageous 54 with the bat while all-rounder James “Italian Woodfired Pizza” Ellis managed to get himself 25 runs as the team made 131. Ellis claimed 4 early wickets as their opponents had their backs right against the wall but the side fell just short of playing their own rivals in Tanunda Black in the A5’s Final.

The Black 4’s faced finals rivals in Gawler Centrals and came away with a strong win to see them pitted against Angaston in next weeks final. Playing at Lyndoch oval Nat “Medditeranian Fetta and Herb” Steinert stole the show with 5 crucial wickets that put their opponents in big trouble in the penultimate weekend of the year.

The end of season presentations are to be held on the 18th of April out at the lawns at Peter Lehmann’s. The day begins at 11am and includes presentations for both Juniors and Seniors as well as a BBQ lunch and awards to be given to TCC life members.

The “Arnott’s Shapes Top Knock” award goes to spiritual leader Jon Farley for his 69 for the 3’s while the “Rogasch Windows Best Bowler” award goes to Justin Ward for his 5 wickets in the 1’s.

In a wet weekend at the TCC all grades performed with spirit in the soggy conditions with the 1’s, 2’s and 3’s all fielding first with varied success, while the 4’s teams both played good competitive cricket with the Blacks winning although the Whites had to settle for a draw.

The 1’s needed a good start in their match away from home against bottom placed Freeling to consolidate their place in the finals. The bowlers did a fantastic job in restricting the opposition batsmen before the rain came to halt play with the score at 5/112 after 49 overs. Right arm quicks “Steady” Eddie Giedel and Barry Kaesler “Vineyards and Winery” both managed to claim 2 scalps as all bowlers went for minimal runs in their individual spells.

The 2’s also played in a do-or-die game against finals bound Sandy Creek away from home. The rain also came in their match to ruin the first innings as the ‘pies had the opposition at 6/184 after 57 overs. Shane “Window” Dalby was the only multiple wicket taker with 2, as the other wickets were shared amongst the rest of the bowlers.

The 3’s have their work cut out if they want to go into the major round on a winning feeling in their match against Gawler Centrals. In the wet at Willaston, Tanunda were never able to really get on top, especially after going a bowler/fielder down in Daniel “Slide and Flick” Marshall. However the lads fought hard to restrict their opponents to 221 after 65 overs. U16’s seamer Parker “Reverse Parallel” Neldner was the chief wicket taker claiming respectable figures of 3/17, while king spinner Nick “SOC” Murphy also claimed 2.

The Black 4’s endeavoured to keep their finals chances alive in their match against Angaston at the Angaston Oval. Batting first it was skipper Matt “Hayden” Spackman, 38, and Shale “Shael?” Wall, 32, that made the most out of the opposition attack as the side made 155. With the ball Mark “Taylor” Hoklas, Corey “McKernan” Roehr and Ryan “Pallet” Shepley all claimed 2 wickets as the Angaston side were all out for 89.

The White 4’s battled valiantly in their match against Truro but were unable to get over the line before the match was declared a draw. With the ball first the returning Troy “Helen” Raymond and fellow quick Sam “Sung” Cox both claimed multiple wickets as the Truro side finished at 7/133. Runs were made through the agency of Bradley “Mellow” Marshall, 47, and Link “Foxes” Fleetwood, 34 but play stopped before the side reached their desired total, finishing at 6/111 in the 31st over.

The date for the end of season presentations has been changed to the 18th of April on the lawns out the front of Peter Lehmann’s. The day will include presentations for both Juniors and Seniors with an 11am start for the junior presentations, followed by lunch and then senior presentations.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to the evergreen Bradley Marshall for his solid 47 for the White 4’s while the “Rogasch Windows Best Bowler” award goes to U16’s regular Parker Neldner for his 3 wickets in the 3’s.

The TCC produced some encouraging results this week with only the 1’s going down to the likes of Gilbert Valley while the 2’s, 3’s and White 4’s all had vital wins to keep their sides just where they are needed coming out of the penultimate match of the regular season.

The 1’s needed quick wickets if they were to continue their form coming into the finals but this was not to happen against a spirited Gilbert Valley outfit. Having the opposition 3 key wickets down after last week the side were always going to push for victory however a few solid partnerships stole victory from the ‘pies. Breakthrough bowler for the year Mitchell “Notion” Boschen was the chief wicket taker claiming 4 scalps although this wasn’t enough as Gilbert Valley passed the score 8 wickets down.

The 2’s late season finals fight continues with another dominating week against South Gawler which sees them squeak into 4th spot. With an outright win on the cards for the lads they got the result they wanted with 3 wickets going to left-armer Paul “Imperishable” Healy, who finished with 10 for the match, while other quicks in Daniel “Like” Schilling “Peas” and Shane Dalby “Hifi” both claimed 2 victims. The men who did the damage last week with the bat, in Captain Pete “Chieftain” Mernagh and stroker Brett “Can’t spell Grocke without rock” Grocke, followed up last weeks efforts with not out performances to get the side the much needed double points.

The 3’s return to form continued late in the season as they now have a finals birth wrapped up going into next weeks match against Gawler Centrals. Off spinner Nick “Icypoles” Murphy took his wickets tally for the season to 33 with another dominating display with the ball finishing with figures of 5/46 in the first innings and another scalp in the second. Daniel “Bouncer” Marschall got the ball rolling however with an aggressive display snaring 3 wickets of his own, however the best performance of the day again goes to the much better half of Murphy who again brought ambrosial supplies during the tea break.

The White 4’s also revived their finals hopes with a necessary win against Eudunda-Robertsown in their do-or-die clash away from home. Batting first it was again opener Dave “Guerdon” Gordon who undoubtedly in career best form with another 45 to set up the teams’ innings score of 133. With the ball it was Chris “FOF” Murphy, who looks to be finding later season form, and Link “Letter” Fleetwood who both claimed 3 wickets on the cheap to propel their sides toward victory and a possible finals birth.

The end of season presentation is coming up and it is looking like another exciting finish to a number of senior sides trying to make the finals. Presentation Day for both Juniors and Seniors will be held on Sunday 11th April on the lawns out the front of Peter Lehmann’s again this year. 11am start for the junior presentations, followed by lunch and then senior presentations.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to the evergreen Dave Gordon for his crucial 45 for the White 4’s while the “Kaesler Vineyards & Winery Best Bowler” award goes to Nick Murphy for yet another 5 wicket haul for the 3’s.

This week at the TCC the 1’s, 2’s and 3’s fought hard to keep their finals aspirations on track, while both 4’s sides will have work to do to scrape into the 4’s finals.

The 1’s faced a difficult challenge in Gilbert Valley, away from home at the Riverton ground. There wasn’t ‘hats off’ to the openers but the usual suspects in all-rounder Mark “Only a few more weeks left and I don’t have to think of a nickname for the bloke” Hartigan, 51, and coach/captain Bohdan “Same with this joker” Wall, 48, did much of the work to get their side to 199 with another tail-order collapse giving Wall reason to scratch his head. However the bowlers redeemed themselves before stumps having the opposition at 3/53 with a hairy week in front of both sides if they want to finish their seasons on a high.

The 2’s found themselves pipped for fourth spot last week but are looking to snatch it back with a commanding performance this week against bottom placed South Gawler. Left-armer Paul “Something to actually write about” Healy bowled with vast knowledge to record a vicious 7 wickets and have his side in with a chance of recording an outright victory. Having the opposition all out for 77, the ‘pies batsmen made the runs with 1 wicket down with much of the plaudits going to skipper Pete “Pistola” Mernagh and accumulator Brett “Mexican” Grocke who both made 40’s to finish at 1/98 before the declaration. Next week the side needs 9 wickets before they head in again to bat to try and record a handy outright to continue their finals fight.

The 3’s, after yet another two week bye, faced Lyndoch on a skinny pitch at the Faith home ground. After an avoidable delay at the beginning of play the team went on to make a dashing 323 with some fine hitting in the later overs. 1’s centurion Jon “All 3″ Farley again batted with heart to notch up another solid total of 73 while youngster Tirryn “Centreback” Nankivell and soon to be allrounder Sam “Bee Vs Ant” Tarca both brought up their first half centuries for the season. The 3’s are after an outright victory for themselves to get as high on the ladder as they can come finals time, but still have plenty of work to do next week to record such a feat.

The White 4’s performer better than the week prior but were still ultimately unsuccessful as they went down to Light Pass at Stockwell 2. Batting first only opener Dave “Everyones got a mate called Dave” Gordon had any real success scoring a considered 54, before he was caught as the side were all out for 133 with 6 over’s still in the shed. Spinner Chris “Handle King” Murphy managed to claim the respectable figures of 3/32 but this wasn’t enough as the side went down and now have an uphill battle to make the top 4.

The Black 4’s had the luxury of a full sized pitch but weren’t able to capitalise as they went down to a strong Nuriootpa side at Faith 2. Starting the field new boy Peter “Rovers” Blackburn managed to snare 4 wickets while occasional spinner Shael Wall “E” also finished with respectable figures getting 3/35 as their opposition made 7/239. With the bat only skipper Matt “Thief” Spackman and Mark “ing his territory” Hoklas made runs as the side fell well short of the win and possibly a 4’s finals appearance.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to the sempiternal Jon Farley for his in 73 for the 3’s while the “Barossa Turkey Flat Vineyards Best Bowler Best Bowler” award goes to the amaranthine Paul Healy his brutal 7 wickets for the 2’s.

This week at the TCC both the 1’s and the 2’s managed to successfully defend last weeks totals to tighten up the finals race, while both 4’s teams both were unsuccessful as their finals action both look in jeopardy.

The 1’s slipped into the top 4 without a resounding win over fellow finals contender Gawler Central at the Dog Track. Posting a very respectable 7/342 last week the ‘pies still had work to do in the field if they wanted to keep their finals aspirations on track. A concerted team effort got the side over the line but it was all-rounder Mark “Short on ‘Award’ again this week” Hartigan who claimed the best figures of 4/58 from his 18 overs, while left-armer Shaun “Shaka Hislop” Akkerman backed him up superbly claiming 3 of his own victims. The 1’s now poke their heads into the top 4 with another finals action chasing team in Gilbert Valley awaiting them next week.

The 2’s had a crushing win over their own finals rivals, in Greenock, on turf at Tanunda Oval. They also had a solid total to bowl to, finishing with 10/259 at the end of their allotted overs, and they had the job finished just after the 30 over mark bowling out their opposition for 44. Daniel “Vettori” Schilling followed up last weeks fine work with the bat also claiming the title of chief wicket taker snaring spectacular figures of 5/6. In Greenock’s second dig experienced left-armer Paul “Older than he looks” Healy managed to take a couple of scalps as the 2’s took 4th place on the ladder.

The White 4’s roller coaster season continued, following up last weeks belting win, with a crushing defeat at the hands of Freeling. Nothing went right with the bat as the ‘pies were all out for only 46 managing to last until just after drinks with no batsmen able to make double figures. 3 wickets managed to fall in the opposition innings but all in vein as the Redlegs made the runs in the 15th over.

The Black 4’s first week back after the Bye was an unproductive one, as they went down playing away to Truro. Although a battling start with the bat saw both Steve “Billy” Mattner, 52, and Mark “Hello, Mark” Hoklas, 53, both record half centuries before an atrocious collapse saw the team all out for 161. The team fought hard in the field but weren’t able the come home with the chocolates with Corey “Colleymore” Roehr the only bowler able to get multiple wickets with 2/20.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to Mark Hoklas for his half century in the Black 4’s while the “Barossa Garages & Home Improvements Best Bowler” award goes to Daniel Schilling for his $50 earning haul in the 2’s.

For anyone interested coming out and having a hit senior training’s are on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5 alongside the Tanunda oval in the nets, get there before the light goes.

With the teams back in two day mode there was immediate success with both the 1’s and the 2’s posting formidable targets for their opponents to chase, the White 4’s had a resounding victory, while the 3’s and the Black 4’s had byes and forfeits to deal with as they had a week off.

The 1’s faced Gawler Centrals in a must win game to keep up their chances of playing finals cricket and they got off to a sensational start at the Dog Track. 3’s regular opener Jon “” Farley was the star of the innings compiling a brilliant 131 on his return to the side while coach/captain Bohdan “Hole in the” Wall, 72, and first drop Matthew “and Son” Whitelum, 57, both contributed healthy scores as the side finished at 7/342 at the end of their 75 overs. The 1’s sit one spot out of the top 4 but a healthy win could nudge them into a finals place if they manage to get the result they desire.

The 2’s also batted first in their match against Greenock at the Tanunda Oval in near perfect conditions. Another 3’s revelation in Daniel “Golden Child” Schilling has near cemented his spot in the 2’s side with an extremely solid 76 as his side made 259 after being bowled all out in the final over. Other batsmen to contribute were first drop Darren “Cheese Platter” Graetz, 52, skipper Pete “Peaches and Cream” Mernagh and lower order batsmen Simon “Sprayman” Liersch, who both scored 29. The 2’s are also one spot out of the final 4 but again with a comfortable win could see them push in front of Lights Pass in the 4’s position.

The White 4’s has a resounding victory also against Greenock which was played as a ‘home match’ for the visitors at the new Faith second oval. The 4’s batted first with the top and middle order all getting starts it was left to Dyl “Do try it” Abinett to finish off the innings making a solid 30 as the side finished at 8/201. With the ball it was opening bowler James “Kate MP” Ellis who did the most damage claiming figures of 5/17 from his 8 overs, with other wickets going to pace bowler Josh West “Bromwich Albion”, 3/15, and possible off-spinner Tristan “Tristram” Schwartzkopff, 2/0.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to the evergreen Jon Farley for his decisive innings for the 1’s while the “Kaesler Vineyards & Winery Best Bowler” award goes to James Ellis for his fantastic 5 wicket haul for the White 4’s.

A consolidating week for the TCC with the 1’s winning in a thriller at Williamstown, the 2’s went down to Angaston, the 3’s also winning a tight one on turf while both 4’s teams recorded important wins in their bid for A4 finals action.

The 1’s knew they had to keep winning to stay in touch with the top four and they batted first on the hard deck against competition new boys Sandy Creek. A terrific partnership between opening batsman Mark “ed Man” Hartigan, 71, and coach/captain Bohdan “Wallflower” Wall, 103, set up the final tally of 298 for their opposition to chase. There were a few worrying times in the field for the ‘pies but they managed to restrict Sandy Creek 8 runs shy of victory. Young quick Mitchell “Motion of the Ocean” Boschen was the chief wicket taker picking up 3 wickets while each of the other bowlers chipped in with 1 each.

The 2’s also went into bat first at home and managed to post a respectable tally at the end of their 40 over’s. Opener Daniel “Accelerators fallen off” Schilling was pivotal in the side reaching 9/186 scoring 68 while the brothers Graetz, Darren, 38, and Phil, 33, also chipped in before the lower order collapsed. The finishing form with the bat sadly continued with the ball as Paul “AP” Healy was the only bowler who collected multiple wickets recording figures of 2/41 with Angaston finishing strongly.

The 3’s kept their finals goals intact with a closely fought win against Nuriootpa away from home. Bowling first it was injury prone Andy “Shaggers” Costin and the returning Shane “Shaggers” Dalby who both collected 3 wickets while spinner Nick “Shaggers” Murphy deflowered the batsmen’s stumps at the other end with 2 cheeky wickets. The 3’s made hard work of chasing the 121 for victory with most batsmen getting starts but no singular batsmen able to go on, however some very handy bowler order batsmen in Dalby, Costin and Dylan “Too young for Shaggers” Abinett got the side over the line in the finishing overs.

The Black 4’s got back on the winners list with a sensational chase against Kapunda on the Kapunda High School grounds. With the ball it was only Mark “Bleeding Nose” Hoklas who managed to claim multiple wickets as their opposition made 205 on the quick field. Captain Matt “Spackman & Mossop - Focusing on regionally and culturally responsive landcape architecture” Spackman was the hero with the bat seeing his side over the line batting through to the end scoring 64. Hoklas was also essential in the chase notching up 62 crunching runs to help his side to victory and into the top 4.

The White 4’s built on last week’s showdown victory with a hearty match against Angaston at Faith Oval. Change-up bowler Kym “Sauce and Bread” Vanstone continued his bowling form with figures of 4/24 while all rounder James “Ute Pool” Ellis claimed containing figures of 3/13. Opening batsman Dave “Gilligan Hat” Gordon, 24, and esky thief Brad “Guilty until proven innocent” Marshall, 34, did much of the work as the side passed the score in the latter overs.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to Bohdan Wall for his in 103 for the 1’s while the “Barossa Turkey Flat Vineyards Best Bowler Best Bowler” award goes to Kym Vanstone for his 4 wickets for the White’s.

For anyone interested coming out and having a hit senior training’s are on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5 alongside the Tanunda oval in the nets, get there before the light goes.

This week at the TCC the 1’s went down against Angaston, the 2’s triumphed away from home, the 3’s got back on the winners list, while the 4’s showdown went down to the wire on Sunday.

The 1’s had several players out over the weekend through numerous commitments as they batted first at home. All-rounder Mark “Thumbs” Hartigan opened the batting brutally with a 4’s picket before he was bowled for 45 while coach/captain Bohdan “Fire” Wall’s 41 also helped the side get to the tally of 172 after 39 over’s. There wasn’t much luck thrown around in the field for the ‘pies however as only Hartigan managed to pick up multiple wickets, with figures of 3/30.

The 2’s headed out to Kapunda to play on an eventful pitch that offered a bit for everyone who bent their back. With the ball it was the returning Paul “Bombers” Healy who claimed the best figures in the first innings with 4 crucial wickets and he was backed up by Speedster Sam “Techie” Cox who claimed 3 scalps. Then with the bat it was the partnership between Simon ” Batsmen ” Liersch, 43 not out, and Steve “Dummy, Weave, Duck, Turn” Lindner, 45, that managed to get the side over the line.

The 3’s got their season back on track with a much needed win against Angaston at Faith Oval no.1. Jon “Form” Farley again hit the gaps in his return to form with a cracking 63 while the rest of the batsmen chipped in to get the score up to 165 at the end of their 40 overs. The bowling efforts were also shared with the wickets spread amongst the team with spinners Nick “More Nicks than a Greek Wedding” Murphy, Rowan Schmiegel” Miegel and Shael “COB” Wall all picking up 2 wickets as their opposition fell 5 runs short.

The 4’s showdown was held on Sunday at the new Faith Oval and the game came right down to the wire much to the excitement of the assembled crowd. The Whites batted first and shared the runs amongst the team with supposed All-rounder James “Do Something” Ellis top scoring with 23 coming in at number 7. With the ball in the first innings it was Corey Roehr “Bird” who was the chief wicket taker with 3 negating wickets. Then captain Matthew “Schpaeeeeecky” Spackman opened the second innings with a bullying display scoring 59 runs before he was bowled and this is where the joy finished for the Blacks as they fell 6 runs short of the win. With the ball it was Chris “Louie” Neldner with figures of 4/24 which finished the Blacks chase.

Congratulations must go to another 1’s debutant for the year in Liam “Lotion” Boschen who has had a splendid year with the bat and hopefully he can finish off the rest of the season in the same vein.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to Jon Farley for his half century in the 3’s while the “Barossa Garages & Home Improvements Best Bowler” award goes to Paul Healy for his brilliant 4 wicket haul in the A2’s.

The final round for the year saw 20/20’s for every grade with the 1’s finishing in front in a tight tussle, the 2’s not quite being able to finish away from home, the 3’s also finish the year on a low with a loss to Light Pass while the 4’s showdown saw the Blacks peg one back over the Whites.

The 1’s blooded three debutants against last placed Freeling and they performed admirably in their new surroundings to help the side get to Christmas continuing the sides winning ways. The wickets were shared with 2 apiece going to new opener Mark “Supposedly has never get the Clubhouse top knock award” Hartigan, youngster Mitchell “Favourite” Boschen and one of the newbys Josh “Better than at the Chateau?” West. They were supported well in the field with some spectacular catches and three important run outs. Man of the match Hartigan also opened with the bat and notched up an important 59 as he and Christian “Very appropriate name for this time of year” Gattermayr, 23, helped the side much of the way to the targeted 115 to win.

The 2’s finished the year with a loss to the competitions new boys Sandy Creek at Williamstown. Batting first only “I’m” Phil “ing” Graetz managed to middle the ball with a dynamic 49 as the score got to 9/144 at the end of their innings, with the help of 27 sundries. With the ball the wickets were shared singularly but not at regular enough intervals as the score was made comfortably with over’s in hand for the opposition.

The 3’s also fought willingly but without luck as they went down in the late match to Light Pass away from home. The side were unable to find their rhythm in the field with several key fielders out of the side as their opposition made 141. Daniel “Law” Marshall was the only man to claim double wickets with restrictive figures of 2/11.Returning Captain Kym “Bowling poop” Farley led the way with 34 well placed runs with Liam “Other favourite” Boschen, 29, and Tyran “Tyrant” Nankeville, 22, also finding the gaps as the side fell 21 runs short of the win at the end of their innings.

The 4’s showdown saw a much-needed victory to the Black’s as they bowled tightly to restrict the Whites. There was an energetic start to the Black’s innings with a bludgeoning 47 from opener Shael “Silo” Wall however this frivolous start was pulled back by change-up bowler and Whites man of the match Kym “Breadtop” Vanstone who took spectacular figures of 5/14. Whites ring-in Shaun “Shooter” Akkerman was the only one to get started with the bat making 21 but the trio of Nat “Lager” Steinert, Luke “Goldie” Wells and Luke “Muster” Schuster “Muster Schuster” stopped their opposition with tight bowling which claimed them 2 wickets each.

Congratulations must go to the three players who debuted for the ones as they all played their part with the ball or in the field. These players were youngster James Marshall and mature age selections in Josh West and Sam Tarca. Good luck with the rest of the season lads.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to Mark Hartigan for his crucial innings for the 1’s while the “Kaesler Vineyards & Winery Best Bowler” award goes to Kym Vanstone for his terrific bowling efforts, and not so much for his bread throwing abilities for the White 4’s.

From everybody at the Tanunda Cricket Club have a very merry Christmas and stay safe over the break.

This week at the TCC the 1’s continued their good form with a win at home, the 2’s also continued their streak at the expense of South Gawler, the 3’s got back on the winners list with an away win while the Black 4’s won through forfeit but the White 4’s couldn’t get over the line at the Rec. Centre.

The 1’s didn’t have it all their own way but managed to come home with the goods against Gilbert Valley. Opening with the bat it was Tristan “Tristram” Schwartzkopf who hit the gaps well making a deserved made half century before coach/captain Bohdan “Retaining” Wall saw the side up to 5/239 as he fell just 3 runs short of another century for the club. Wickets were hard to come by on the home deck but everyone bowled tightly enough to make sure the opposition fell 22 runs short of the mark as their overs ran out.

The 2’s also batted first and were able put a healthy score on the board proving too much for their South Gawler opponents. With a strong overall batting performance with most batsmen getting good starts it was opener and Captain Pete “the Penguin, mascot of Youngstown State University” Mernagh who continued his good form with the bat notching up 46 to lead the way. Mernagh also managed to claim 3 wickets but it was the returning Daniel “Unit of Currency” Schilling who claimed figures of 4/18 to be the pick of the bowlers.

The 3’s faced a young Freeling side at Freeling Oval and also defended their score successfully in the field. The 100 run partnership between opener Jon “Bali” Farley, 50, and the returning Barry “Vineyards & Winery” Kaesler, 65, was the highlight of their batting innings as 163 runs were posted on the board. Kaeslers spell with the ball also saw him as the chief wicket taker claiming figures of 3/19 and he was ably supported with Nick “Morpheus” Murphy as he added 2 more scalps to his growing tally.

The White 4’s weren’t able to complete the full set of club wins as they lost to Kapunda at home. With the ball it was Nick “Nearly Headless” Storton who had the most luck taking 3 wickets while James “Kate” Ellis and Parker “Peter” Neldner both picked up 2 wickets as Kapunda made 151 off 33 overs. The batting line up never got going as the side was bowled out for 93 as Storton, 21, Ellis, 14, and opener Brenton “has been one of the thousand most common names for boys born in the United States since 1966″ Miegel, 33, the only batsmen to get into double figures.

The TCC Christmas show will again this year be held at last game of the year, the A4 showdown, which has been rescheduled to Sunday 20th December, at Tanunda Oval. Get down to the oval and share the beer, wine and Christmas merriment.

The “Clubhouse Top Knock” award goes to Bohdan Wall for his in 97 for the 1’s while the “Barossa Turkey Flat Vineyards Best Bowler Best Bowler” award goes to Daniel Schilling for his sensational 4 wickets in the A2’s. For anyone interested coming out and having a hit senior training’s are on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 5 alongside the Tanunda oval in the nets, get there before the light goes.
